I found a handy free C4D python rig for using multiple bend deformers on an object. When you want to add several bend deformers in sequence things can get tricky. Bend Chain helps out by automatically locking your sequence of bends together – so when you change a bend earlier in the chain, the bends further up follow along. Thanks to curiousanimal.tv for sharing!
Remco created a really nice, realistic Tin shader for Cinema 4D. We’re sharing not only the material, but some nice 3D tin mugs, cups and tableware for free. Thanks Remco!
I recently found a great free C4D plugin called Proc3Durale and have been playing with it a lot. It’s more or less a “destruction” plugin to create weathered or broken down geometry. It’s incredibly versatile though, creating everything from weathered bone, sponges, organic fluid looks or even voxel effects. It uses noise patterns to chew holes in geometry and create some very cool looks. Check out my tutorial to get you up and running.
Hey everyone, I found a really incredible free resource for you guys! It’s a free C4D road generator created by Mike Batchelor over at slouchcorp.com. It’s built into your character animation tool and includes straight roads, corners, roundabouts, T intersections etc.
You just click on what piece you want to add it and they build together to quickly build a full road system! After you build them you can go in and change the length, width, curvature etc. really easily. Very, very cool preset rig. Grab it now!
Hey everyone, I just created a Confetti Pack for you, it’s a free pack for C4D and AE containing 5 different confetti preset rigs. Included are 5 different particle rigs with different confetti styles, all fully customizable. Also included are full HD rendered quicktimes that you can just drag into AE and screen over your footage to instantly add confetti if you don’t have C4D. Hope you guys enjoy. Peder Norrby of Trapcode has created a really nice resource and is giving it away for free. If you have Trapcode Form and MIR you are in luck and can use this preset rig. It’s a Nebula Construction Kit for After Effects. It’s a beautiful preset for starry skies with nebula. Included are a handful of different camera moves that are already set up. The preset is easy to modify and is a great place to start for some cool shots of our universe.

Hey everyone, we’re launching a fresh modeling contest! Here are the details:
We chose “Superhero” as the subject for the contest, which will give you lots of room to play with. One great way to find inspiration is type in “Superhero” in google images. There are tons of awesome ideas. You could go with a superhero weapon, prop, costume or vehicle, whatever you want.
The winner will get one 3D model pack of their choice from The Pixel Lab. I will package up the best entries and I will make them available for free download on my website!
1. You have one month to create your model/models. Entries must be submitted by the last day of June.
2. Your submission must include: The C4D project file with textures and at least one high resolution render of the model. Everything should be in a .zip file that is e-mailed or sent to joren@thepixellab.net
3. You must model, texture and light your scene.
4. Do not use copyrighted materials, such as logos, textures, images etc. that you do not own. Use sites like cgtextures.com or sxc.hu etc. for free images to use while texturing or create your own. We will be sharing the models with everyone, so they can’t have copyrighted material, plugins etc. in them or they will be disqualified.
5. By submitting a model you are granting permission for me to give the models away for free if you win. These models can be used by the community for commercial or personal use.
6. If possible, don’t make your objects editable, so that people can see how you modeled it, learn from it, and make any changes they need to easily.
